Today I played!

Today I've stolen few moments out of the day to relax and work with some of the many pictures that have been sitting on my desk for an incredible amount of time. I have to say it felt good. I did not have hours ahead of me, so I decided to use the elements of a kit because the kits contain supplies that usually complement each other and today that was going to be perfect for my needs. The kit I used was from Jenni Bowlin Studio. Did I mention how much I enjoy Jenni's kits? They are well thought and nicely put together. At times a little of a stretch for me because they can contain romantic and retro elements that are definitely out of my comfort zone. But that is part of the fun, isn't it?
So I found these pictures of Lucas taking off his socks (a very common event with him) and I played around. The page below is the result. Now I am ready for bed. Have a great night everyone.

So sick!

I have been sick for the past 3 days. And when I say sick I am not using this word lightly. I have caught this stomach virus that is going around (I think I got it from Lucas) and it has brought me to my knees.
It is a Norovirus and it really, REALLY, kills your stomach, together with robbing you of all your strength and energy. I hope today is the last day because I feel totally useless.

Our BEAUTIFUL house

2 weeks into the remodeling. We have no backyard, garage, office, or guestroom. We still have the kitchen, therefore no complaints from me. The mess outside reflects the complete chaos we are living inside the house and my theory in these situations is to just go with the flow. I still try to ut stuss away and try to keep the sembiance of some order, but that is mostly because I would like to be able to find stuff when needed. Greg and I are already asking each other: where is this? or where is that? I hope it is not going to get much worse, for now it is still a livable environment. I was able to transfer a lot of my scrapbooking supplies into our bedroom, fact that makes me very happy as I can still have some fun in the middle of the craziness.

I have to admit the our bedroom has lost any sense of style it ever had, but it is for a greater good!So far so good.

The work has started

Oh yes!
For those of you who don't know what that means....well, we are remodeling the last (I hope) part of our house and that is...the KITCHEN!
To tell you the truth, it is a little more than that: we are adding more square footage, converting the garage to living space, and completely redoing the kitchen (new space, new shape, new everything). Tonight we are emptying the garage and the office (where my scraproom was!) and packed a lot of stuff in one of those "Door to Door" containers. My scrap room has been temporarily moved to our bedroom that now is completely claustrophobic!!
The house overall is a mess and we are not even close to the worst part of the job, meaning that the contractor is leaving us with the kitchen for another month while they work on the external stuff (foundations.. etc., ). At that point, I have no idea what we are going to do. I believe we are going to be without kitchen for at least a couple of months. The simple thought is horrifying to me. In case you don't know , we have 3 kids in the house.
I guess I have to start thinking like Doris Day...whatever will be will be!

Back at work

Wow! The Holidays went by so fast!!! I can't believe they are over and I am back at work already. The kids and Greg are still at home until next week, and it feels funny to leave the house in the morning when they are all still there. I made a page about my "love for Science" and all the joys as well as difficulties that it has created in my life. I love what I do, but it also does take me away from all the other loves of my life. I wish there were enough hours in a day and enough days in a year to dedicate myself to everything and everyone I love.
Have a great day!

EDITED: I had to remove the page because is on its way to be published in CK. I will post it again after publication

Happy New Year!

Happy 2007! Hopefully it is going to be a great year!

Last night we had a relaxed New Year's Eve with Greg's family at Grandma's Hiro house. Here are few pictures to show how the boys spent the night waiting for the ne wyear to start. Lucas was incredibly good and stayed up and in a great mood ( to everyone's surprise).
Alex and Ryan run around the house and played with the uncles and cousins. They really had a good time. Tomorrow real life starts again.
